Five Signs Your Website Needs a Redesign
28 Aug 2026 · 1 min read
A website doesn't announce when it's become a liability. It just quietly stops converting, and most businesses don't notice until someone mentions it in passing — "oh, I checked out your site before reaching out." Here's what to watch for.
- - It takes more than three seconds to load on mobile
- - You can't remember the last time you updated it yourself, because you can't
- - It looks noticeably different from how your brand looks everywhere else
- - Visitors land on it and immediately can't tell what you actually do
- - You're embarrassed to send the link to a prospective client
Any one of these on its own might not be urgent. Two or three together usually mean the site is actively working against you — not just failing to help, but actively costing you the benefit of the doubt a first impression is supposed to buy you.
The Real Cost of Waiting
The math on a redesign is simple once you frame it as return, not expense: how many people are landing on your site right now who leave without doing anything, and what would even a modest improvement in that number be worth over a year? For most service businesses, that number pays for the redesign several times over.
